Questions people ask

Is Higher Orbit free for job seekers?

Yes. Searching, applying, keeping up to five CVs on file and being matched by our AI are free, permanently. Premium (₹499 a month, or ₹3,999 a year) adds Confidential Search, employer blocking, all five CVs active and a place on the recruiter's featured list — you never pay to be found.

How does Confidential Search keep my job hunt private?

With Confidential Search on, you are shown only to companies hiring a role you genuinely match, and your name and contact details stay masked until you accept their interest. You can also name the companies — including your current employer — that must never see you, and the block is applied before any match is calculated.

Who sees my CV, and can I take it back?

Only employers you apply to, or whose interest you accept. Every use of your data is agreed separately — sharing your CV, recording an assessment, being referred — in plain English, and you can withdraw any of it from Settings → Privacy & Consents in one click.

What happens to a video answer I record?

Nothing is recorded until you agree on screen. The recording is visible only to that one employer, is destroyed 30 days after you submit it, and is never used to train AI models. An AI transcript and score help the recruiter read it, but a person always makes the hiring decision.

Can I download or delete everything you hold about me?

Yes. Settings → Privacy & Consents has "Download my data" (a zip with your profile, consents, applications and CV files) and "Delete my account", which gives you a 30-day window to change your mind. Our Grievance Officer and DPDP nominee details are published in the Privacy Policy.

Do you only have jobs outside the big cities?

No. Higher Orbit covers roles in metros as well as Tier II and Tier III cities — the difference is that smaller-city and remote roles are treated as first-class here, not as an afterthought.
